Dear Friends, Customers and Colleagues
Today, I am reaching out with a personal appeal for a cause that is close to our hearts here at Edinburgh Assay Office. As some of you may know, our beloved colleague and friend, Angela Houliston, lost her brave battle with breast cancer in 2022.In her memory, we have an 11-person team taking part in this year’s MoonWalk to support Walk the Walk Breast Cancer Research UK, and we need your help to make it a success.
Angela was our Financial Director for more than two decades. She was a vibrant, compassionate, and inspiring presence in our lives. Her courage and determination throughout her fight against breast cancer left an indelible mark on all who knew her. To honour her legacy and help others facing this disease, we are dedicating our team name to her on this walk.
Our team will take on a half marathon of 13.1 miles across Edinburgh on 7 September, raising awareness, investing in prevention, and supporting those living with breast cancer and other cancers. Hundreds of participants will set off from Holyrood Park in Edinburgh to walk an overnight half or full marathon through the streets of the capital at this year’s MoonWalk Scotland,to raise much needed money to support those living with cancer. Over the last 16 years, the night-time event, organised by breast cancer charity Walk the Walk, has raised over £22 million, with the money granted to charities across Scotland.
